The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has opened opportunities for scientific guidance and research partnership with the Bobibos team, which has developed an alternative fuel derived from processed straw. The Bobibos product is claimed to meet standards close to RON 98 and has been tasted on both two- and four-wheeled vehicles. BRIN acknowledges that if straw can be directly converted into fuels like gasoline without passing through bioethanol production, it would represent a significant technological breakthrough. Therefore, BRIN has expressed its readiness to support Bobibos through further research and scientific assistance to ensure commercial feasibility, as well as fulfillment of patent and standardization requirements.

BRIN researchers also explained that scientifically, straw is rich in cellulose and has strong potential as a raw material for bioethanol through fermentation processes. However, the main challenges lie in the low yield and the complexity of the conversion process. If Bobibos technology can simplify this process and efficiency produce fuel from straw, the innovation deserves high appreciation and full support. BRIN also encourages that the technology be patented as soon as possible to make the invention publicly known and prepare it for legal and scientific entry into the market.
