
The Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Laksana Tri Handoko, reaffirmed BRIN’s commitment to facilitating collaboration between private universities (PTS), industries, and the research community. At the Jakarta Higher Education Week 20 (PPTJ20) event, Handoko introduced various research and education programs, such as Degree by Research and the post-doctoral scheme, enabling academics and industries to utilize BRIN’s research infrastructure and funding. Additionally, BRIN offers nine research grant schemes open to both universities and the industrial sector, aiming to foster stronger synergy between research, education, and industry in Indonesia.
PPTJ20 serves as a significant platform for private universities and industries to collaborate and present innovative solutions in higher education. The event was attended by 105 universities and 21 partner companies, offering various program and career opportunities for students. The event’s committee chair, Dini Falah, emphasized that PPTJ20 seeks to modernize university governance to enhance quality and competitiveness. Furthermore, Ali, a representative from the Jakarta Education Office, encouraged all stakeholders to ensure that higher education in Indonesia is ready to transform, producing graduates who excel not only academically but also in leadership and entrepreneurship.
