The Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) has outlined 33 strategic projects to be launched soon, one of which is the Waste to Energy (WtE) initiative that converts waste into power. Danantara Chairman Rosan Roeslani explained that regulations related to WtE have been finalized, and the tender process will soon begin in several cities, including Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar. He stressed that tenders will be conducted openly and transparently while also highlighting opportunities for global cooperation, particularly with Jiaxing Jiayuan SUS Environment, recognized for its advanced waste-to-energy innovation.
In addition to WtE, Rosan noted that all 33 strategic projects had been discussed with former Finance Minister Sri Mulyani at the end of July 2025, with five priority projects selected based on readliness and high socio-economic impact. The meeting emphasized financing strategies, including the issuance of Danantara bonds, the importance of ensuring project continuity at the regional level, and the need for transparent communication with the public investment realization, strengthen national development, support green energy initiatives, and deliver tangible benefits for community welfare.
