Indonesia Needs Excellent Human Resources for Semiconductor Development


The National Research and Innovation Agency through the Electronics Research Centre (PRE) held the 8th edition of SISTEM (Scientific Sharing of Electronics Science and Technology and Its Benefits) with the theme “Advanced Technologies for Chip Design and Implementation”. Head of the Electronics Research Centre, Yusuf Nur Wijayanto, said that the application of these technologies can increase effectiveness and efficiency in completing work, he hopes that the event will contribute to the development of semiconductors at BRIN.

Risman Adnan Mattotorang, Chief Digital Technology of PT Kalbe Farma, explained the development of RISC-V technology, an open-source AI technology that can be accessed by everyone for free. With this technology, anyone can learn and develop the technology they want to develop according to their measurements and needs.

Basuki Rachmatul Alam, Lecturer at the Batam State Polytechnic and Advisory Board of the Microelectronic Center from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), explained that Indonesia is potential for chip development as Indonesia have abundant natural resources and capable human resources.
