PT Pertamina (Persero) has achieved 68% of its annual carbon emission reduction target by the first half of 2025, equivalent to more than 1 million tons of CO2e reduced. This achievement is the result of consistent implementation of various decarbonization programs, including energy efficiency improvements at operational facilities, the use of low-carbon power generation, and enhancements to energy distribution and transportation systems. Key strategic initiatives contributing significantly include the expansion of solar PV installations at major operational sites and the optimization of natural gas utilization in upstream and refinery sectors.
Pertamina is also updating its Net Zero Emission (NZE) roadmap to align with national policies under Asta Cita, the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), and global decarbonization commitments. This step underscores that Pertamina’s sustainability programs are not merely operational strategies, but a long-term commitment to supporting Indonesia’s NZE target by 2060. The company will continue to strengthen the implementation of low-carbon initiatives across all subholdings and affiliates, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while ensuring national energy security.
