Premier Cho: NT$900 Billion to Drive Green, Storage, and Energy Efficiency by 2030

Premier Cho Jung-tai chaired the 36th National Sustainable Development Committee meeting, emphasizing the government’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The 2025 central budget allocates NT$116.1 billion, with a total of NT$900 billion planned by 2030 to accelerate green energy, energy storage, and energy efficiency.

Taiwan’s climate mission aligns with the 2023 Climate Change Response Act and the 12 key strategies for a green transition. The government will also enhance grid resilience and support industries in their green transformation. Efforts will focus on achieving 50% energy efficiency in buildings and promoting net-zero architecture through smart and green building initiatives, led by public sector projects.
