Recycled Plastic Container Materials Enjoy Preferential Rates Starting January 1, 2025

The Ministry of the Environment in Taiwan announced that starting January 1, 2025, new preferential recycling fees will be implemented for certain containers. Plastic containers made from recycled materials or designed with eco-friendly features can receive up to a 45% discount. This initiative aims to promote a circular economy.
The revised fee structure includes:
50% discount for reusable glass containers.
15% discount for plastic containers using recycled materials.
Additional discounts (15% to 30%) for plastic containers with green designs, such as using pure materials, original colors, minimal labels, or tethered caps.
This policy is part of Taiwan's effort to encourage resource recycling, reduce plastic waste, and adopt green design concepts to tackle global plastic pollution.
