Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that the renewable energy sector will be a primary focus of Indonesia’s investment in 2026. Amid global uncertainty, the government views investment as the main driver of economic growth, targeting total investment realization of IDR 2,400 trillion. Energy diversification toward more sustainable sources is considered crucial for maintaining economic stability while strengthening national energy security.

One of the key priorities is the development of solar energy, with a target capacity of up to 100 GW, including initial deployment in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. The government remains optimistic that Indonesia’s economic growth will stay within the range of 5.2–5.4%, in line with projections from international institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. At the regional level, ASEAN continues to be a high-growth area, with Indonesia among the countries performing above both regional and global averages.
