The Indonesian government has established a partnership with Norway to promote sustainable development across various sectors, including carbon trading, mangrove and peatland conservation, and environmental pollution management. Deputy Minister of Environment, Diaz Hendropriyono, emphasized that this collaboration aims not only to reduce carbon emissions but also to create job opportunities for people in both countries. Through cooperation on climate change and conservation issues, Indonesia and Norway hope to achieve long-term solutions that benefit both the environment and the economy. Additionally, the Indonesian government has invited Norway to participate in the country’s waste management initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in handling domestic waste.

Norwegian Minister of Climate and Environment, Andreas Bjelland Eriksen, welcomed this partnership, stressing that emission reduction should align with economic and social value creation for communities. Norway sees great potential in this collaboration and plans to expand its partnership with Indonesia in various environmental and green energy sectors. By strengthening this strategic cooperation, both countries aim to address climate change challenges more effectively while fostering innovation and sustainable economic growth.
