ITRI Hosts International Forum at Shalun Green Energy Demonstration Site, Showcasing Solar Photovoltaic Achievements

The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) hosted an international forum at the Shalun Green Energy Science City in Tainan, focusing on advancements in solar photovoltaics (PV). The event featured expert discussions on next-generation PV technologies, optoelectronic materials, and grid management, alongside exhibits showcasing Taiwan's solar energy opportunities.

Key highlights included ITRI's "Flexible Silicon TOPCon" module, which improves photoelectric efficiency and reduces land use by over 10%, and the E-Cube mobile energy solution, a modular, off-grid energy storage system useful for outdoor applications.

The morning session covered PV technology progress, including Japan’s solar research, floating PV systems, and the integration of solar with aquaculture. A keynote addressed global offshore solar development, emphasizing its role in land-scarce regions.

The afternoon session introduced perovskite X-ray detection technology and discussed renewable energy's impact on grid management, strategies for achieving "2050 Net Zero," and the integration of PV plants with energy storage and smart energy management systems.
