Le Minerale demonstrated a strong commitment to plastic waste management by participating in the World Environment Day (WED) 2025 Exhibition, themed “Beat Plastic Pollution.” During the event, Le Minerale showcased recycled PET bottle products in the form of clothing and shoes in collaboration with local brands such as Kivee and Pijak Bumi. This initiative proves that properly sorted PET plastic bottles can be recycled into high-value, useful products. Through its food-grade recycling facility operated by PT Bumi Indus Padma Jaya in East Java, Le Minerale aims to reduce waste by up to 30%, in line with Minister of Environment Regulation No. P75 of 2019 and Presidential Regulation No. 83 of 2018 on marine waste management.
In addition to showcasing product innovations, Le Minerale emphasized its commitment to implementing a circular economy approach throughout its entire business chain—from raw material selection and production to post-consumption packaging management. Data from Sustainable Waste Indonesia (SWI) and Indonesian Plastic Recyclers (IPR) shows that PET bottles have the highest recycling rate, reaching up to 71%. Le Minerale’s booth drew attention from Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, who praised the integrated plastic management efforts. He also stressed that cross-sector collaboration is the key to tackling the national plastic pollution crisis, noting that out of 56.6 million tons of waste generated in 2023, only around 39.01% was properly managed.
