LINE GO Launches Carbon-Reduction Fleet, Aiming for 5,000 Vehicles by Year-End

LINE GO, Taiwan’s largest Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform, announced the launch of its green energy carbon-reduction fleet to support the 2050 net-zero emissions goal. The fleet is expected to reach 5,00 hybrid and electric vehicles by the end of the year. In collaboration with LINE FRIENDS, LINE GO has introduced the “LINE GO Green Energy Brown Bear Car” with the LUXGEN n7, Taiwan’s first domestically produced electric vehicle. The service features exclusive ride-hailing options, with Brown Bear-themed design and accessories inside the cars to promote sustainable travel.

LINE GO has over 4 million members and 14,000 cooperating drivers. It aims to lead the electrification of commercial vehicles and achieve its “GO Sustainability” brand mission. Using its taxi platform data, LINE GO estimates it will reduce carbon emissions by 1,894.53 tons per year, equivalent to the absorption of five Daan Forest Parks. The LUXGEN n7 electric vehicles are particularly effective, with 1,000 cars cutting carbon emissions equivalent to 1.3 Daan Forest Parks annually, compared to 0.66 for 1,000 hybrid cars.

LINE GO noted a 9% increase in ride demand during the first two weeks of trial operation in October, with corporate cliens accounting for 25%. The largest user demographic for green energy cars is the 20-29 age group (30%), followed by 30-39 (26%), indicating high acceptance among younger users. LINE GO will also assist companies with carbon accounting, providing data on carbon emissions from employee travel and commuting.
