POLYTRON, an electronic company from Indonesia, together with the Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center (ICDEC) successfully held the first batch of chip design training which took place in Kudus from October to December 2024. This initiative is a monumental step in producing superior talent in the field of chip design to support the development of the national semiconductor industry. This training involved 50 students who passed the selection from a total of 333 students from various universities in Indonesia.
Supported by global partners such as IMEC Belgium, Cadence Asia Pacific, and the United States Embassy for Commercial Affairs, as well as related ministries such as the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), this 900-hour training, equivalent to 20 credit units (SKS), covers basic theory to hands-on practice using Cadence software and FPGA board hardware. Participants also receive coaching from experts and insights into the latest trends in the semiconductor industry.
POLYTRON Business Development Specialist, Jeogianto said that the training program is part of the grand vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, where human resource development is one of the main pillars. POLYTRON collaborates with ICDEC as the initiator of this program to emphasize its commitment to continue supporting the development of young talent for the semiconductor industry in Indonesia.
In the future, POLYTRON invites national and international partners to be involved in the development of chip design education in Indonesia. Head of Culture Development POLYTRON, David Setyadi Rahardjo emphasized that this collaboration is expected to be the beginning of a big step towards national technological independence.
