Taiwan prides itself on being an inclusive society which respects the beliefs and cultural values of different communities, and in order to appeal to tourists from NSP countries, Taiwan has diligently created a travel setting that is welcoming to Muslim visitors. Key transit locations and tourist spots, including international airports, major railway and high-speed rail stations, national parks, and highway rest areas, are all equipped with Muslim prayer rooms. Muslim dietary and prayer customs are also taken into account in crafting Muslim-friendly travel itineraries and creating an inviting travel experience.
According to the Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI), Taiwan has been steadily advancing in the rankings for non-OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) destinations.Taiwan broke into the top three for the first time in 2019, climbed to second place in 2021, and is projected to sustain its top-three status in 2023, underscoring the successful integration and coordination of travel resources catering to Muslim travelers.
