On June 5, 2025, Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment (MOENV) inaugurated the nation’s first Circular Redesign Center at C-LAB, Taipei, to promote resource circulation, empower youth entrepreneurship, and catalyze circular economy development. The Center will serve as a national platform for upcycling, green product exhibitions, and startup incubation, backed by funding from the Green Growth Fund and R&D subsidies. It aims to support 10 new startups annually and promote 40 circular product brands through exhibitions and matchmaking services, connecting design, manufacturing, and consumer markets to drive systemic change toward net-zero and zero-waste goals.
The Center opened with its first featured exhibition, “Textile Circulation”, aligning with Taiwan’s Net-Zero Strategy and the EU’s 2030 vision for sustainable textiles. Organized by the 8+N Resource Circulation Alliance, the showcase highlights fiber-to-fiber recycling, green textile design, and the reuse of materials like coffee grounds and pineapple leaves. Exhibits from industry, academia, and research demonstrate full-cycle innovation—from recycled fabrics to workwear made with 100% recycled polyester—offering practical, eco-friendly solutions and models for circular transformation across sectors.
