Discussion and sharing with General Manager of PT. Veolia Services Indonesia, Mr. Laurent Besson
Our Taiwan-Indonesia Science and Technology Innovation Center (STIC) visited the PT Veolia Services Indonesia on December 6th. Veolia is a French transnational company for 170 years (since 1853) engaged in three main service and utility sectors: water management, waste management, and energy services.
PT Veolia Services Indonesia is the largest PET recycling plant in Indonesia, capable of recycling approximately 100 million PET bottles every month. The construction commenced in 2018 and has been in full production since April 2020.
Veolia collaborates with the Indonesian bottled water brand, Danone Aqua, to recycle and process PET plastic bottles, transforming the material into high-quality food-grade pellets. These pellets are used in production of new bottles, forming a closed-loop recycling system. The Veolia has been involved in wastewater treatment and the recycling of plasticized like PET for several years. The Indonesian market is in early stages, with immature regulations, offering significant development potential and necessity.
We were honored to engage in discussions with Mr. Laurent Besson, General Manager of PT. Veolia Services Indonesia, also we hope that this company can potentially become a partner for STIC in the future.
