To assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in achieving their low-carbon goals, the Ministry of Economic Affairs stated that it will continue to provide smart carbon reduction projects in the commercial services sector. The program was launched last year and has subsidized a total of 163 projects with an approved subsidy amount of approximately NT$170 million, mainly covering wholesale and retail businesses, as well as the food and beverage industry.
The Administration of Commerce, MOEA emphasizes that this year’s subsidy program has commenced, and SMEs in the commercial services sector can apply through the Business Smart Carbon Reduction Subsidy Program platform. The application period is open until November 30, 2024, or until funds are depleted. Companies can achieve smart carbon reduction through various methods, such as implementing smart ordering systems in the food industry to save time, analyze inventory data, predict ingredient usage, and reduce carbon emissions.
Additionally, The Administration of Commerce, MOEA suggests that wholesale and retail businesses can adopt inventory management system applications to optimize shipping frequencies, reduce fuel consumption, and achieve carbon reduction benefits. The subsidies are devided into two categories: “Single-Service Application” with a subsidy cap of NT$300,000 and “Integrated Service Application” with a subsidy cap NT$1,500,000.
